LAB TEST Rules and Format

The Lab Test is a 1 day comp with a self scored qualification round from 10am to 4pm. The top 6 qualifier scores make it to the finals. The finals are independantly judged with an isolation format.

Qualifier guidelines

• Start with 1 limb on each tagged hold, in control.

• 1 attempt is made when both feet leave the ground.

• Only start holds can be touched from the ground.

• Any part of a hold or volume can be used.

• Any part of the wall can be used apart from

• bolt holes in the wall with hands

• the top of a wall

• anything outside blue tape.

• Black volumes are in for all climbs unless divided by tape.

• Zone and top holds must be held in control with a static center of gravity.

• We ask everyone to score themselves honestly, judges may remove points or give disqualification if necessary.

• Points for; flash = 10, Second attempt = 8, Third= 6, Four or more = 4.  2 points for zone hold (red tag) only if no top is managed.

• 10 is the maximum number of points per boulder problem.

Finals

• Qualifiers will be announced around 4:30

• Finalists must sign in at reception after announcement.

• Stay in isolation until called for Observation.

• Climbers will have 4 minutes to complete each boulder.

• Winning position placed by number of tops, then number of zones, followed by attempts on top and zone
